Nigeria U17 women coach Bala Nkiyu has listed 25 players to battle for
21 shirts in the Flamingoes' squad to the 4th FIFA U17 Women Finals in
Costa Rica, taking place between 15th March - 5th April this year.
The list is made up of players from Pelican Stars, Bayelsa Queens, Ineeh Queens, FC Robo, Rivers Angels, Nasarawa Amazons, C.O.D United Ladies, Osun Babes, Confluence Queens, Ibom Angels and Delta Queens.
Among the regulars included are Chinwendu Ihezuo, Uche Kalu, Esther Elijah, Ugochi Emenayo, Aminat Yakubu, Cynthia Aku, Tessy Biawho, Mary Ologbosere, Joy Duru, Joy Bokiri, Rashidat Ajibade and Ayomide Anibaba.
Others are first choice goalie Onyiyenchi Okeke, Ginika Ikeh and Onyebuchi Goodness.
The U17 team will jet out of the country by 11pm tonight, for a training tour of Faro, Portugal. An international friendly match against Belgium U17 women has been lined up for the girls on 5th March.
Nigeria have tough women football playing nations like China, Mexico and Colombia to compete with in Group D.
The tournament will be played across four stadiums, three in San Jose and another in Liberia.
