Women coach urges Flamingoes to focus on U17 World Cup, tips team to do well

Confluence Queens coach Charity Enwere says the Nigeria U17 Women team must concentrate on winning the World Cup this year and stay focused.

And should they win the tournament in Costa Rica, the girls would erase the disappointments of the last two editions, where they were bundled out of the quarter final stage of the FIFA event.

“It's going to be hard to win and they all have to focus on that. We'll cross that bridge when we come to it.”

“If you want to play for a country like Nigeria you have to handle the pressure and having other players in your position. It never changes and it's not something to be scared of.

“I believe the Flamingoes will go a long way because their spirit is too high to defend their fatherland.

“I have no fear or doubt that the women U17 World Cup shield is already in Nigeria. I wish the girls and technical crew all the best in the task that lies ahead of them,” she said.
