Kinsgley Udoh believes Okey Emordi can guide Kano Pillars to CAF Champions League success this season.
Masu Gida lost 3-1 to AS Vita of DR Congo in Kinshasa on Sunday. Despite the setback, the former Heartland defender is dreaming of Champions League glory this term.
“We have the experience to qualify at the expense of Vita. The group shouldn't forget the hopes of the great people of Kano is on us,” the 2007 FIFA U17 World Cup winner asserted.
“The squad have belief in Emordi, who's instilling faith in the team. Maybe he can finally bring the coveted Champions League to Kano,” Udoh said with a smile.
Pillars will face Vita in the second leg match of the CAF Champions League preliminary stage at Sani Abacha Stadium on Saturday.
“It could have gone a lot worse after the red card to Kofarmata but we still need to face Vita with great respect.
“We need to match their intensity, hoping that our players have something extra on a technical level.”
