Mansur rejoice as Enyimba progress

Mansur Abdullahi believes Enyimba International Football Club qualification for the second round of the 2014 CAF Champions League shows how far they have come in the last two months.

The People's Elephants lost 2-1 to Togolese Champions Anges de Notse in Lome on Sunday. However, they qualified 4-3 on aggregate.

“The most important thing is that they have qualified to the next stage. From what we have seen in the Super Four to the Champions League they have showed the stuff in them,” the NIMC coach told a reliable source from his base in Abuja.

On the quality of the coaching staffs the former Bayelsa Queens head coach said: “I have confidence in the technical crew headed by a senior colleague Zachary Baraje.

Mansur urged the team to be focused on the task ahead.

“The team must work hard because many Nigerians are behind them because Pillars are out and they our only Nigerian side left in the competition.

Baraje led unfancied Elkanemi Warriors to a 4th place finish in the 2012/13 Globacom Nigeria Premier League, but the ex-Olga Queens gaffer thinks Aba is condusive for Baraje to thrive.

“They are two different environment. In terms of motivation and experience of administrators Enyimba has it all. I think we will see better results,” he assured.

The next round could see the Aba boys lock horns with teams like Al Ahly, Zamalek and some tough oppositions.

“I don't think there is any pushover in African Football. It's a game of eleven,” Mansur concluded.
