Bosso plan to make Abia Warriors a good side

New Abia Warriors head coach, Isah Ladan Bosso has become a popular name on the lips of local football followers in Nigeria.

Bosso, was at Bendel Insurance, where he worked as an assistant to current Niger Tornadoes boss Godwin Koko Uwua.

The intelligent tactician has since held his own with stints at Niger Tornadoes, Kano Pillars, Wikki Tourists and Bayelsa United.

In 2009, he led Tourists back to the Premier Division after relegation to the Nigeria National League (NNL) the previous year.

Against all odds the friendly gaffer almost won the Premier League for Bayelsa United in the 2012/13 season, but was denied by a controversial decision by the centre referee in the week 38 encounter at Pantami Stadium.

Records shows that some of his players at the U20 level have been promoted to the senior side at one time or the other. The endless list includes Brown Ideye, Elderson Uwa Echiejille, Reuben Gabriel, Nwankwo Obiorah, Femi Thomas, Blessing Okardi and so on.

It's too early but he is warming his way into the hearts of football loving Umuahia fans.

“The game of football is the same everywhere. A team must be united in order to be successful.

“If you can manage the national side, there is no outfit you can't oversee.

“I hope to transform Abia Warriors to a team to be feared by all when the league kickoff on March 7th 2014,” he told a reliable source.
