Nigerian quartet in action as Al Gharafa dismantle Al Ahli

Nigerian duo Favour Uzor and Soo Adekwagh were on song as Al Gharafa Ladies thrashed Al Ahli Ladies 5-1 in a Qatar Women Football Premier League match played on Tuesday.

The quartet of Dikachi Uzor, Blessing Kalu, Soo Adekwagh and Favour Uzor all got starters shirts in the complete massacre of Ahli.

Favour, a former Nasarawa Amazons defensive machine scored from close range to cap a wonderful performance.

Soo, an ex-junior international chipped in a brilliant strike from 20 yards after skillfully dribbling past two defenders.

Super Falcons invitee, Dikachi made two world class saves, both in the second half, but wasn't at fault for Ahli's only goal. She tasted full 90 minutes of action.

The other Nigerian on the pay roll of Gharafa, Blessing also put up a commendable performance for the oil rich team.

We caught up with Dikachi Uzor after the ruthless performance and she analysed how the result was achieved.

“The good thing for us is that we did well. We set out to take our chances. At the end we achieved our objective.

“The belief in the team rung from the blast of the whistle. I think the result reflects dedication, discipline and determination in the squad.

“We did well in the first half. The conditions was good for both teams to play the game of soccer. We were not afraid to attack and once again our resilience paid off,” the former Delta Queens goal said.
