Niger Tornadoes winger Wilfred Ameh has expressed his delight after
netting his first goal of the season against ABS FC in the week 7 of
the Nigeria National League on Saturday.
"It is a dream of every player to play for a big team; the opportunity to play was great; I really enjoyed it and to cap it all I scored, but it was really nice,” the player who is known by admirers as Di Maria told Futball Galore.
The Super Eagles invitee scored the last goal in the three-nil rout of ABS at the Bako Kontagora Stadium.
“Now, we have to work and give the coach options. It is difficult to break into the team or just be part of the 18 players that makes the match-day team," he said.
The former TEAP FC winger will have to battle for a place in the star-studded Tornadoes team midfield. Di Maria says he's prepared to fight for a starting berth.
"Now, that I managed to score by maiden goal for a great side, I want to push hard to build on what I have started," the ex-Kogi United player continued.
“Playing in the NNL under coach Abdullahi Biffo has really helped me do what I love the most; I was not nervous or anything," he added.
Di
Maria was courted by Enugu Rangers, Ifeanyi Uba FC and Giwa FC before
he opted to defend the colours of Niger Tornadoes in the NNL."It is a dream of every player to play for a big team; the opportunity to play was great; I really enjoyed it and to cap it all I scored, but it was really nice,” the player who is known by admirers as Di Maria told Futball Galore.
