Villarreal considers move for Cesar

Villarreal are reportedly considering a move for Queens Park Rangers’ Julio Cesar this summer as competition for Juan Carlos Sanchez.

The Valencian outfit are known to be in the market this summer for a second goalkeeper to act as first-team competition for Sanchez and have widely been assumed to be making a move for Osasuna’s Andres Fernandez.

However, on from Osasuna releasing a statement denying their intention to sell Fernandez, Villarreal are looking elsewhere.

President Fernando Roig was alleged as having enquired at QPR recently over the availability of former Inter goalkeeper Cesar.

The Brazilian international, who only moved to the London side last summer, is expected to leave this transfer window, with a return to Serie A suggested.

However, Villarreal are thought to have entered consideration now, with the ‘keeper valued at €3m.
