Scolari sticks with the core of his Confederations Cup squad, gives Maxwell a call-up

Brazil coach Luiz Felipe Scolari has picked almost the same squad that won the Confederations Cup for the team's friendly against Switzerland in August.

Scolari selected 20 players for the match in Basel on August 14, with 19 of them drawn from the Cup squad. Paris Saint-Germain left-back Maxwell is the only newcomer.

The starting 11 from the victory against Spain in the final of the World Cup warm-up tournament in June were summoned, including strikers Neymar and Fred, midfielder Oscar and defenders Thiago Silva and David Luiz.

The missing players from the 23-player Confederations Cup squad are goalkeeper Diego Cavalieri, defenders Rever and Filipe Luis, and midfielder Jadson.

Goalkeepers: Julio Cesar (Queens Park Rangers), Jefferson (Botafogo)

Defenders: Thiago Silva (Paris Saint-Germain), David Luiz (Chelsea), Dante (Bayern Munich), Daniel Alves (Barcelona), Jean (Fluminense), Marcelo (Real Madrid), Maxwell (Paris Saint-Germain)

Midfielders: Fernando (Shakhtar Donetsk), Hernanes (Lazio), Luiz Gustavo (Bayern Munich), Paulinho (Tottenham), Oscar (Chelsea),Bernard (Atletico Mineiro), Lucas (Paris Saint Germain)

Strikers: Hulk (Zenit), Jo (Atletico Mineiro), Fred (Fluminense), Neymar (Barcelona)
