First half goals from Robinho and Nigel De Jong gave the Rossoneri a two-goal cushion going into the break.
And Miroslav Djukic’s men were unable to claw back a result despite Dani Parejo’s strike midway through the second period.
Valencia will now travel to New York to face the loser of the match between Inter and Chelsea.
