Alexis Sanchez has reflected on Neymar’s arrival at Barcelona and on being in direct competition for a starting spot with the Brazilian.
The €57m summer signing is today preparing with his new teammates for this evening’s friendly in Poland against Lechia Gdansk in what could be his first appearance for the Catalans.
“We had hoped for him and I wish him well for his further education in European football,” Alexis reflected to reporters today.
“How is he? In the morning I saw him and he looked a little tired…no, we all hope that he does well, he has the support of all of his teammates.
“He is one more in a team that is intent on fighting for all the titles this season.”
The Chilean is expected to be in direct competition for a place in the team with the 21-year-old.
“The first thing is to have a good preseason, then to fight for a spot in the team every day.
“I trust my capacity as a player, the club have said that they count on me and I will stay to continue to help the team.
“I do not mind playing on the wing or down the middle, there is no difference.”
