Flying Eagles striker Alhaji Gero was among the goals scorers as Eagles ‘B’ beat TEAP FC 2-0 in a warm-up game on Tuesday in Abuja.
The Enugu Rangers striker was barely three minutes on the pitch when he scored the opener in the 48th minute after coming in as a second-half substitute for Ezekiel Mba.
Ifeanyi Edeh made it 2-0 for the Eagles in the 58th minute after he received a pass from Chibuzor Okonkwo.
The starters for the Eagles were: Chigozie Agbim - Solomon Kwambe, Benjamin Francis, Godfrey Oboabona, Azubuike Egwuekwe, Sunday Mba, Oladapo Olufemi, Rabiu Ali, Ezekiel Mba and Ifeanyi Edeh.
After a goalless first half, Ayo Saka came in for Rabiu Ali, Gero replaced Ezekiel Mba, while Chibuzor Okonkwo took over from Kwambe.
The Eagles have been training in Abuja and are bound for Abidjan on Thursday for this weekend’s 2014 CHAN second leg clash against hosts Cote d’Ivoire.
Nigeria won the first game 4-1 in Kaduna.
