Real Madrid and Tottenham are reportedly set to meet and negotiate terms for Gareth Bale’s transfer next week.
Reports in Spain overnight have suggested that Los Merengues’ President Florentino Perez will soon meet with Spurs counterpart Daniel Levy to open formal negotiations for the prized 24-year-old winger.
El Confidencial understand that a meeting has been set up now between the respective club leaders and that they will cross paths on August 6 or 7 in Miami, where Madrid will play the third game of their preseason tour of the US.
The London side have, say AS today, indicated that only a world record cash payment of €98m as well as inclusion of €20m-rated Fabio Coentrao would be an acceptable bid for the Welshman, who is increasingly reported as pushing for the move to the Spanish capital to go through.
Yesterday it was suggested that Spurs are prepared to turn down Madrid’s intended offer of €98.5m.
Marca, meanwhile, indicate that Tottenham are pushing for as much as €145m for Bale.
