Lyon coach Remi Garde has ruled out the possibility of signing Arsenal forward Gervinho this summer.
The Ivorian star has been linked with a move away from the Emirates this summer after struggling to establish himself last term with Italian giants Roma.
Gervinho was left out of the Arsenal squad for the club's pre-season tour of Asia, and it appears that he is moving closer to an exit from the North London club.
However, the recent reports are suggesting that he could be on his way back to France with Lyon in a swap deal that could see Yoann Gourcuff coming to Arsenal.
Remi Garde has said that he will not be looking to bring the player back to France and will instead be looking to the club's own youth policy to find a suitable new attacker.
"This has only come from the press," Garde said in response to the speculation.
"I've heard that Lyon is interested in Gervinho, but Gervinho is a striker, and we have young and very good strikers already at the club."
Gervinho, who can play as a wide forward or central striker, has scored 11 goals in 63 appearances for Arsenal since joining from Lille two years ago.
