Gonzalo Higuain’s father says talks with Arsenal over a possible move to the Emirates Stadium are at an advanced stage.
Jorge Higuain and the Real Madrid striker’s representative travelled London on Wednesday for talks with Premier League club and, although a deal is still to be struck, the Argentine international is understood to be very close to
joining the Gunners.
“Nothing has been signed but negotiations are very advanced. “We’ve still not spoken about a contract and that will happen when a transfer fee is sorted out between the clubs
“Arsenal have made us a great offer but so did Juventus,” his father told TuttoMercato.
Higuain is believed to have agreed personal terms with the Italian giants, but the offer from the Vecchia Signora fell short of what Real Madrid are asking.
At the same time, the purchase of Carlos Tevez from Manchester City has made Juve’s need for another striker less urgent than it was.
