Biffo targets opening league win

Giwa FC chief coach Abdullahi Biffo has insisted that his side will approach the opening 2013/2014 Globacom Nigeria Premier League match at home to Kano Pillars with seriousness.

The newly promoted team have a mountain to climb in Pillars in the week 1 of the 2013/2014 GNPL and will fancy their chance to grab the maximum points.

"It will be very fiery at Rwang Pam Stadium, but we have ambitions and have to do well," he said.

"Our destiny is in our hands, so that is the important thing, as we don't have to rely on anyone else's results. Our DNA does not allow for calculations," the upcoming gaffer said.

"We are going to win and that is the only way we know how to play. If Pillars do better, then we will applaud them, but we are incapable of sitting back and waiting for opponents to come at us.

"Last season in the Nigeria National League (NNL) we took the game to Plateau United, FC Taraba and Mighty Jets, so we'll do it to Pillars - that is beyond doubt."
