Bayelsa United started the game with neat crisp passes but totally
against the run of play in the 13th minute Isah Aminu gave Kaduna United
the lead from the penalty spot after a Bayelsa United player handled in
the eighteen yard box.
The first half ended with Kaduna United leading 1-0.
Upon resumption of the second half Bayelsa United took the game to the
hosts, trying to force an equaliser, only to lose their surest link
towards levelling the tie, Buhari Jaffar, the Ex-Kaduna United forward,
who limped out injured with Samuel Chukwudi taking his place.
Poor finishing from Samuel Chukwudi aided Kaduna United in maintaining
their lead as his composure deserted him twice when he had the goal
keeper at his mercy.
Bayelsa United were made to pay for the loss as Isah Aminu made it 2-0
to Kaduna United in the 77th minute off a Siman Yusuf assist, after
replacing Peter Onoja,
Isah Aminu was replaced shortly after he got his brace with an ankle
complaint and his substitute Sunday Gabriel help the team keep
possession as Bayelsa failed to threaten.
The boys of Coach Ben Duamlong hung on to the two goal advantage to
pick up their second win of the five week old Nigeria Premier League.
