Rangers See Off Nembe City In Enugu (Rain Delay, game to be completed on 10 April)

Nembe City's slump continued as under pressure Enugu Rangers earned a well deserved 2-0 Globacom Nigeria Premier League triumph at the UNEC Football Pitch after 78 minutes on Wednesday evening.

Meshack Chukwubuikem, who started alongside Ejike Uzoenyi and Osaghona Christian, opened the scoring in the 13th minute. It was a great way to remember his dead mum, whom he dedicated the goal to.

The points were closed to be sealed with a close-range effort from Christian Obiozor some minutes after he replaced Meshack in the second half.

The success was manager Sam Obuh's second since he was saddled with the responsibility of leading the club, while for Nembe City it was a second league loss in two fixtures.

The Flying Antelopes stole the show with some high line of momentum, forcing the away side's goalkeeper into two close-range saves.

They were not to be denied for long, as the fast rising Meshack gave the home fans something to cheer with a cool finish in the opening 20 minutes.

The advantage was doubled within thirteen minutes of the restart when substitute Christian Obiozor put the daylight between Rangers and City with a good finish. It was the first league goal netted by the Super Eagles striker in the current campaign.

With 12 minutes to go, heavy rain brought the game to an end, and the remaining time is set to be played the next day at 8am.
