Forgotten Super Eagles midfielder Sani Keita who last played for Nigeria in 2010 at the World Cup in South Africa has joined Enyimba Fc of Aba.
Keita has been training with the team since before Coach Zachary Baraje was asked to step aside for Imama Amakapabo but he was only registered by the people Elephant this week.
He last played for Kano Pillars in the Nigeria premier league in 2005 where his display earned him a place in the Nigeria silver winning under-20 side of that year.
A move to Sparta Rotterdam in Holland came after the world youth championship but his European career suffered so many setback after Sparta's relegation to the Dutch lower league, he moved to Monaco in 2008.
At Monaco he failed to break into the team and was subsequently loaned out to Rubin Kazan and Lokomotiv Moscow in Russia and also Ukraine Tavriya Simferopol in 2011 but all with little success.
Keita last known club abroad was Olympiakos Nicosia in Cyprus but internationally he also won a silver medal with the Nigeria Olympic team at the Beijing Olympics team before making 15 appearances for the Super Eagles.
A red card he sustained for a retaliatory tackle at Vasilis Torosidis of Greece at the World cup in South Africa as Nigeria lost in the group stages to Greece was the death knell on his international career, the player was largely blamed for Nigeria's loss and at a point he claimed he received death threats.
Keita is expected to debut for Enyimba in the coming weeks.
