AS Racine FC’s frontman, Gafar Adekunle Lasisi has been named as Metro Pro League’s player of the month for March.
Lasisi, earned himself this honour as his outstanding displays caught the attention of the Metro Pro League management and fans alike to be adjudged the best player in the maiden season of the ten-team league in the month of March.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony at the Agege Township Stadium on Thursday, the Metro Pro League, Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Victor Akinyooye said the idea to honour outstanding players on a monthly basis is to recognise, encourage and reward hard work, performance and results on the pitch. He then assured that honour shall be bestowed on the most outstanding player of each month of the season.
Lasisi, born on the 19th of August 1996 is the last born of a family of seven siblings. He hails from Aiyetoro in Ogun State. The 177cm right footed center forward weighs 70kg and wears enterprising jersey number 9 for his club. The talented player started playing football at a tender age and developed a keen interest in primary school. He started his playing career at the Mageeco Football Academy in Agege before joining AS Racine FC.
Lasisi banged in 5 goals in as many matches in the month of March which deserved to earn him the first ever Metro Pro League Player of the Month Award.
