There was information in the local and foreign media that Europa League
semi-finalists Sevilla are close to striking terms with Nigeria
international Lukman Haruna.
In an exclusive interview with a South Africa medium, Sporting Director of the
Red and Whites, Ramon Rodriguez Verdejo (Monchi) insisted that
reports linking the Spanish side with the Dynamo Kiev midfielder are
wide of the mark.
Haruna saw his first team opportunities limited under
departed manager Oleg Blokhin, managing only eight starts this season,
which is statistically his worst since he joined the side from Monaco
three seasons back.
''We don't have any interest for Haruna. I think that it
is an invention of the newspapers. If the club wants to sign a defensive
midfielder this summer? No we don't,'' Monchi asserted.
Acting Head Coach of Dynamo Kiev, Serhiy Rebrov did not select Haruna for last weekend's clash against FC Vorskla Poltava,
having arrived Ukraine on the day of the match.
He was granted permission by the club to travel to be with his girlfriend who was about to put to bed.
