Former Delta Queens central defender, Osinachi Ohale,
has signed a professional contract with Houston Dash FC, a club in the
National Women’s Soccer League, USA.
Ohale, a regular in the national side said she was happy to be playing in a league as strong as the NWSL.
“I thank God for His grace and favour
because playing in the NWSL was the least thing I expected this year but
the offer came on a platter of gold,” Ohale said in a release from the
Nigeria Football Federation.
Ohale has already featured in her club’s
first league match of the season which they lost to league defending
champions Portland Thorns. She however said she was comfortable with the
standard of the league, hoping to improve at her club.
When asked if she was ready to rejoin the
Super Falcons camping ahead of the African Women’s Championship, she
said, “I can’t join the team now because our league just started this
April, but I will be with the team for the AWC after the league ends in
August.”
