Nigeria National League side, Ekiti United Football Club, will Thursday afternoon sign a deal with NIGERIA'S leading sportswear producer, OWU Sportswear.
The club management led by Princess Oluwafunmilayo Olayinka-Adefemi approved the deal after its Monday board meeting and both parties are expected to sign the contract papers at the Ministry of Youths and Sports in Ado-Ekiti.
OWU will provide sporting goods for Ekiti United, including kits, outing-wear and training jerseys during the 2014/15 season.
The club chairman, Princess Oluwafunmilayo, said the shirt deal is a giant stride towards re-branding Ekiti United.
However,
as part of efforts towards ensuring the team perform credibly well
ahead of the new season, the management have lined up friendly matches
against Ajiroba Ooni FC of Ile-Ife, Remo Stars FC and Kogi United FC of
Lokoja.
"We have concluded an agreement to play
for another high-profile friendly matches as part of our preparations
for the 2014/2015 Nigeria National League," Princess Oluwafunmilayo said
in a press statement.
"We will play Remo
Stars, Kogi United and Ajiroba Ooni to give the team the tough test they
need ahead of the new season and playing them will help the players and
technical team prepare for the hurdles ahead."
"We want to leave no stone unturned in our preparation the matches against Remo, Kogi and Ajiroba will help the team a lot."
However,
the team management has constituted a media team which comprises of
Toyin Ayoola, Qozeem Oladapo, Deji Ogunsakin and Bayo Olalenge.
