Nigerian-born defender emerge as a champion

Godswill Elohor helped the Barcelona youth team to a three-nil victory over Benfica in a Cup Final.

Elohor, who is the vice-captain of the Barcelona B team was an ever present face in their run up to lifting the Uefa Youth League scoring four times including missing a penalty against Arsenal in the semi-finals and conceding a penalty in the final which Benfica failed to convert.

A brace from Munir Haddadi and Rodrigo Tarin gifted the Catalan youths a 3 nil victory over Benfica to lift the first ever Uefa Youth League with Godswill Elohor lasting the entire duration of the game.

The 18-year-old has been tipped for a breakthrough into the Barcelona main set up following uncertainty about the future of Dani Alves with Martin Montoya his only recognised rival for the right back spot even if the Brazilian stays at the Camp Nou.

He is reportedly on the radar of the Flying Eagles technical crew led by Manu Garba.
