Naija Team Of The Week

John Utaka continued to remind Stephen Keshi of his good qualities, while Izu Azuka also made a case with an individual effort in Turkey.

In the Nigeria Premier League, Chinedu Efugh and Abdulrahman Bahir were excellent in catapulting Heartland and Enyimba to good results in the week 6 of the Local League. The highlight of the domestic league was Peter Ebimobowei's brace in the Bayelsa Derby.

The Team of the Week goes with a 4-4-2 formation as compiled by Futball Galore.

Dele Aiyenugba (Bnei Yehuda, Israel)

The goalkeeper deservedly earned his place in the line up following his heroics in Bnei Yehuda's 1-1 draw against Hapoel Acre. The former Enyimba International FC star saved a penalty kick and was composed for the whole 90 minutes.

Emmanuel Makama (Nasarawa United, Nigeria)

Nasarawa United's most dangerous player in the first half of the game against Crown, making a number of his trademark lung bursting runs from the right back position. He showed plenty of endeavour.

Idris Aloma (Elkanemi Warriors, Nigeria)

Kept his cool to help Warriors earn 3 points in the match against Lobi Stars. The former ABS defender was particularly important in the second half when the game became increasingly stretched.

Chinedu Efugh (Heartland, Nigeria)

It was another dominant display from the skipper in Kaduna. Helped his side earn a draw against United and was regularly seen striding forward with the ball, trying to help his side get that crucial away point.

Kingsley Udoh (Kano Pillars, Nigeria)

Playing in a more advanced role of a schemer, the ex-Heartland man provided cover to Theophilus Afelokhai. Also made a number of runs into the box when needed.

Ogenyi Onazi (SS Lazio, Italy)

Epitomised the never say die attitude noticed in a typical Jos Boy. The box to box midfielder carried the game to Napoli with his strength, speed and technique. We expect the Super Eagles star to secure a move to a bigger club next season.

Aliyu Abubakar (Nasarawa United, Nigeria)

A perfect performance of quality from the young playmaker. He had one of his best games on Sunday, scoring Nasarawa's only goal against Crown and probing from his advanced midfield position.

Kingsley Eduwo (Sunshine Stars, Nigeria)

Scored two goals and provided an assist as Sunshine Stars came back to defeat Warri Wolves 3-2 on Sunday.  Was the best player on the pitch.

John Chukwudi Utaka (Sivasspor, Turkey)

His form has started to pick up since the turn of the year though and he netted again last weekend against Galatasaray with a perfectly executed half volley.

Izu Azuka (Gaziantep BB, Turkey)

A positive game from Izu Azuka against his former club Kahramanmaraşspor. Scored an outstanding individual goal and caused the Kahramanmaraşspor defense problems on a couple of other occasions. Even more impressive was his willingness to track back and work for the side.

Peter Ebimobowei (Bayelsa United, Nigeria)

An excellent display from the Bayelsa United man in the derby match against Nembe City. Led the line superbly, linked up well with his midfielders and showed good movement in the penalty box to net himself a brace.
