Eagles skipper doubtful for World Cup

Joseph Yobo’s participation in June's World cup in Brazil is in doubts with reports claiming the recently recalled skipper might be out for the rest of the season after he aggravated an existing calf injury while on duty with Norwich City.

Yobo who is on loan until the summer at Norwich city from Turkish side Fenerbache, aggravated the injury playing for Norwich City in their one nil loss away to West Brom and the injury forced him to miss out on the team's loss last weekend to Fulham, that have seen them drop to 17th on the log one spot above the relegation zone but five points away from Fulham who are 18th.

If the reports are true then Yobo is in a race against time to be fit for the summer showpiece as he will miss Norwich’s game against Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea.

Norwich City in their bid to beat the drop fired manager Chris Hughton and replaced him with Neil Adams two week ago.

Yobo who has lost his starting place in the Super Eagles to the duo of Kenneth Omeruo and Godfrey Obaboana, was handed a recall by head coach Stephen Keshi for last month’s friendly against Mexico in the USA after snubbing him after the Africa Nations Cup triumph fuelling rumours that he will be on the plane to Brazil in June.
