PSG faced with more crisis, as Pastore misses out

Paris Saint-Germain suffered a new blow ahead of the visit of Bastia on Saturday as Argentine midfielder Javier Pastore was ruled out with a thigh problem.

It means coach Laurent Blanc faces a selection dilemma in the middle of the park where he is already without suspended duo Thiago Motta and Marco Verratti.

The French champions are also likely to be missing star forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who has a thigh problem and only started running on Thursday, while centre-back Thiago Silva is a long-term absentee.

"Physically there are still question marks over (Pastore) because of this thigh problem that won't go away," said Blanc at Friday's pre-match press conference.

Pastore has not played for PSG since September 25 and a 1-0 win over Valenciennes.

It means Blaise Matuidi is the only regular midfielder available, which could mean a starting role for youngster Adrien Rabiot or right-back Gregory van der Wiel moving up into midfield.
