Super Eagles centre half Godfrey Oboabaona finally his debut for Rizespor in the 0-0 home draw in a Turkish Super Lig tie against a Besiktas side that were without his compatriot Michael Eneramo on Monday 21 October 2013.
Prior to this game, Oboabona failed to make his debut for the having been listed in three previous league matches since joining the Turkish club in the summer transfer window from Sunshine stars of Akure.
The Nigerian international who was handed a starting place by coach Riza Calimbay was on duty for the entire duration of the encounter while Eneramo was left out of the Besiktas squad that were held to a 0-0 score line at the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Stadyumu.
Despite being held at home, Besiktas retain their second spot on the log with 16 points from eight league fixtures with a game in hand.
The home side trail leaders Fenerbahce who extended their tally on Sunday with victory thanks to a late strike from Super Eagles forward Emmanuel Emenike by four points.
Oboabaona and his team-mates are currently fourth on the 18-team log with 14 points from the same number of games.
