The Super Eagles have moved up one spot to 41st in the latest FIFA World rankings, which were released on Thursday.
Nigeria polled 701 points to move up from 42nd to 41st in the World and seventh in Africa.
However, the Eagles can move up the table in next month rankings if
they get favourable results in their next two friendly games against
Bolivia and South Africa.
Africa's highest ranked team still remains the Algeria, who are ranked
18th in the world, while 2015 Afcon winners Cote d'Ivoire are second on
the continent and 20th in the world.
Ghana, Tunisia, Senegal and Cape Verde are the other African countries
ahead of Nigeria in the latest rankings, which still has Germany as the
number one football playing Nation in the world.
