Patrick Friday Eze scored his 13th league goal of the season but failed to rescue Mladost from a 1-3 loss to Rad Beograd.
The Kaduna-born forward scored his team's and the game's opening goal
in the 20th minute but ended up on the losing side as the home team
rallied back to claim a 3-1 victory.
The defeat will hurt the Nigerian the more as the he was hoping to
infringe defeat on Rad Beograd, his first team when he arrived in Serbia
in the 2013/2014 season.
However, for the Nigerian his goal makes him the second top scorer in
the top league in Serbia as he is now only one goal behind top scorer
Petar Skuletic of Partizan Belgrade.
The Ex Zamfara United forward already a subject of interest from teams
in Serbia and within Europe is however willing to spend one more season
with Mladost.
They are presently placed 9th on the log and Eze has achieved his aim
of scoring double figure goals as well as helping his newly promoted
side avoid relegation.
The 22-year-old is yet to be capped by Nigeria at any level as this is
his first productive spell in front of goal since leaving Nigeria for
the Ivory Coast where he played for Africa Sports.
He moved to Serbia in 2013 playing 11 times for Rad Beograd in his
first season before moving to Napredak in the same league with little
success.
This season he has blossomed at Mladost prompting talks about him being priced away from the modest outfit.
