Wikki Tourists Names Maikaba As New Coach

Nigerian Professional Football League club, Wikki Tourists of Bauchi have appointed Abdullahi Maikaba as head coach.

"Maikaba has been appointed as the new head of the technical crew of the Wikki Tourist," a top club official confirmed in a chat with Futball Galore.

"His target is to ensure that the club competes favourably on it return to the top flight after a one year stint in the Nigeria National League."

He has previously worked with Kano Pillars, FC Abuja, Enyimba International and Wikki Tourists.

Sources close to the coach told Futball Galore that he is pleased to be back as the gaffer of the Bauchi based team.

"Coach Maikaba is thrilled to be back as the coach of Wikki Tourists,'' the source said.

"The fans should be patient and I know with hard work we will get there," he added.

Tunde Abdulrahman led the team to promotion, but his one year contract wasn't renewed at the end of the 2013/14 NNL season. The former FC Taraba coach was told to re apply for the job, but he lost out in the race.

The interested coaches who also put forward their CVs for consideration are Mighty Jets gaffer Donald Malomo, former Elkanemi Warriors boss Zachary Baraje and Akwa United target John Sam Obuh.

Others are Evans Ogenyi and Ahmed Audu Pele.
