Nigeria youth international Moses Simon will not be suspended after he took the walk of shame in a Cup clash against Lokeren on Wednesday.
After reviewing the incident, the Belgian Federation has decided to rescind the red card, meaning the talented winger will be available for the upcoming game in the Pro League with KV Oostende.
Moses Simon, a second half substitute, had spent less than a minute on the pitch before he was dismissed by referee Wim Smet in the 69th minute.
''About the red card for Moses Simon in the cup match against Lokeren, the federal prosecutor rules exclusion enough and therefore goes no further suspension,'' KAA Gent said in a press release.
''KAA Gent of course accepts this proposal and welcomes the neutral and accurate assessment of the offense by the federal prosecutor.
''Furthermore KAA Gent thanks the public for its heart-warming reaction after the dismissal: a great comfort to our young recruit, so next league should take to the pitch .''
Simon's disciplinary record while on the books of AS Trencin was far from dismal, with only two yellows and a red in 33 Super Liga matches.
The 19-year-old penned a three-and -a-half year contract with Gent two weeks ago.
