Nigeria international Uche Kalu has returned to the Spanish Premier League by signing a short term deal till the end of the season with Levante.
Uche who had a stint in Turkey with Kasimpasa is presently in Qatar trying to reach a solution concerning the termination of his contract with Al-Rayyan, before travelling to Spain to make the move to Levante official.
Levante are in dire need of a goal scorer and in their opinion the 32 years old Uche who has the experience of playing in the La-LIga for Almeria and Espanyol as a player could alleviate their lack of goals this season.
SL10.ng learnt from respected Spanish Sport publication Marca that Uche will be given an extended deal at the end of the season based on the number of goals he scores for the team in his initial six month spell at the struggling La-Liga outfit, who once had Obafemi Martins on their payroll.
In his seven and half years career in the La-Liga, Uche who is comfortable playing behind the main striker or from the flanks scored 50 times for both Almeria and Espanyol.
He also has the experience of playing in Poland, France, Switzerland and Turkey before his move to Qatar where he has been for the past three years playing for Al Jaish and Al-Rayyan with 11 goals in total for both clubs in his 16 appearances.
Villareal forward Ikechukwu Uche’ s older brother will however need time to get back in shape as he has been inactive since March 18 when the League in Qatar went on break.
