The board and management of the Nigeria National League (NNL) on Thursday said that the nation's second tier league would begin in the first week of March.
This is contained in a circular signed by Lawrence Katkem, Board Secretary of NNL.
According to it, the resumption date has been fixed for March 2015, as collectively agreed by all.
The circular also said that the date was suggested by NNL clubs, due to the month-long General Elections in Nigeria, starting from February.
It also noted that the decision was to encourage all citizens of Nigeria to actively participate in the 2015 Presidential and Gubernatorial elections.
The circular, however, said that Katkem reminded the clubs to note that the payments and collection of registration materials had already commenced.
It said that the clubs were advised to make payments to meet the January 2015 deadline for submission of forms and collection of licences.
