Salako: Pardew Is The Messiah

John Salako believes new Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew can create a real buzz at the club this weekend.

Pardew recently took the reins at Selhurst Park after leaving his job at Newcastle United and will take charge of the Eagles for the first time when they host London rivals Tottenham on Saturday.

Former Palace midfielder Salako is a big fan of the supporters of the south London outfit and believes Pardew can help get them up and about with a positive result against fifth-placed Spurs.

“They are going to try and get the fans back, best fans by far last season. What Tony Pulis did, he’s going to try and build it and go out there and get the place jumping,” he told Sky Sports.

“There’s no reason why he can’t start positively. If the atmosphere is right and the lads are on their game, they can cause an upset there. Alan will be looking to win but I would imagine he would take a draw against Spurs.”

Palace currently sit 18th on the Premier League table with just 17 points from 20 fixtures following a run of eight matches without victory.
