Two goals from Peter Ebimobowei gave Bayelsa United a 2-0 victory and
made Nembe City still rooted to the bottom of the Premier League in the
Bayelsa Derby on Sunday.
In the early exchanges the visitors had the upper hand with Eric Frimpong having drawn out a great save from Nembe's goalie Sule Muhammed. The custodian was also at his best to deny Edjobare Lucky.
Nembe City's Obinna Amakor headed Otene's cross against the cross bar with the keeper beaten on the hour mark.
Bayelsa United took the lead at the Krisdera Hotel Stadium when Ebimobewei headed home Iyasele's cross in the 68th minute.
He made it 2-0 with another header to complete an afternoon of misery for Nembe who didn't seem ready to make an impression in the league.
The two-goal hero was greeted by a loud ovation as he made way for Juah Binaebi.
The result was fair but Bayelsa United's win owed more to Nembe City's lack of discipline than their own attacking endeavours.
