Former Flying Eagles skipper picks up win with Almeria

Almeria with Nigerian footballer Ramon Azeez picked up their third league victory, winning 1-0 away to Osasuna at El Sadar.

After starting the season, Almeria did not win in the first 10 rounds. It shows, how important for them are last victories.

Both teams started the match aggressively, but Almeria seemed to be holding back, waiting for Osasuna to overstretch and make a mistake.

The visitors took a 1-0 lead in the 18th minute. Rodrigo Rios got a lot of help from Osasuna goalkeeper Andres Fernandez who fumbled a corner kick inside the six-yard box for the striker to toe across the goal line.

The hosts had their chance to draw in first half injury time, but Esteban Suarez saved teammate Hernan Pellarano from scoring an own goal.

After the break, Osasuna looked more dangerous, who were well on top but they could not find a way past an inspired Esteban.

Oriol Riera should have scored, but his header was straight at Esteban who parried over the bar. For the final minutes of the game,

Osasuna tried hard to get back into the match, but in the end, the points went to Almeria.
