A full-strength Confluence Queens side featuring Tosin Emmanuel, Mariam
Aluko, Chioma Wogu, Ruth Sunday and Lola Philips recorded a 3-1 to a
pre-season win against an U13 selected side on Thursday evening.
Aishat Bello gave the Wada Queens the lead in the first minute, before Ogunleye Kehinde and free kick specialist Olaitan Mary scored one each.
However, the U13 boys netted a late strike to end the match 3-1 at the Lokoja Confluence Stadium.
The game was the first tune up match for the Lokoja based side in preparation for the upcoming Nigeria Women Premier League season.
Aishat Bello gave the hosts the lead after a sweet team work some seconds into the match.
She continued to be a source worry to the young boys and was brought down in the penalty area mid way into the first half.
The resultant spot kick was surprisingly missed by Ginika Ikeh who couldn't get her execution right.
Confluence Queens made some changes to their set-up with the likes of Chioma Wogu, Lola Philips, Oluchi Ezeji and Olaitan Mary all given minutes to perform.
Ogunleye Kehinde doubled the lead in the early part of the second 45 minutes.
The main talking point was the set piece whipped in by former Sunshine Queens attacking midfielder Olaitan Mary. The playmaker completely deceived the goalkeeper with her effort.
Determined not to go home empty-handed, the U13 boys grabbed a face saving goal in the dying moments of the match.
