Kwara United's impressive build up to Nigeria National League Super 4 competition suffered a huge setback as they lost 1-0 in a final friendly match against Nationwide League side Avalon FC of Offa.
The match played on Saturday at the Kwara State Stadium, the venue for the competition saw Coach Tunde Abdulrahman led Kwara United starting with new players intended to prosecute the upcoming Nigeria Professional Football League season.
But the boys could not convince their employers enough as they missed begging chances with below average performance.
Avalon scored what eventually became the winning goal 20 minutes into the first half when Isiaka Majasah converted a spot kick.
The introduction of Dare Ojo, Adeshina Gata, Segun Alebiosu and Yusuf Abubakar couldn't save the Harmony Warriors from defeat which will not go down with the team as they prepare for the Super 4 that will begin in Ilorin on Monday.
Kwara United will battle Wikki Tourists of Bauchi, Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan and Gabros FC (Ifeanyi Ubah FC) to determine who wins the 2013/2014 NNL.
