NWSL Outfit Western New York Flash Sign Super Falcons Midfielder Halimatu Ayinde

Super Falcons attacking midfielder Halimatu Ayinde has signed a long-term contract contract with USA NWSL outfit Western New York Flash.

The versatile youngster will join her new club after securing her P-1 visa and International Transfer Certificate (ITC).

Details of the deal wasn't disclosed by the management of the ambitious side, but insiders told women football reporter Ademetan Abayomi that the move will be beneficial for her fast rising career.

The Delta Queens player impressed for the Super Falcons at the on-going FIFA Women's World Cup, thus the club handed her  a deal.

She is an important member for her club in the Nigeria Women Premier League.

Ayinde, a former U17 international was a member of Nigeria’s U-20 Women’s National Team that placed second in the U-20 World Cup, falling 1-0 to Germany in the final.

“Ayinde is going to provide us with some additional international experience, she did very well at the U-20 World Cup for Nigeria,” Flash general manager and head coach Aaran Lines was quoted by the club's official website.

“She’s come in and started every game so far in the World Cup for Nigeria who, again, I feel have surprised in one of the most difficult groups.”

“Ayinde is technically very sound; a good passer of the ball,” Lines added. “As an offensive midfielder, she has the ability to engage into the attack and give us a really good option down the spine of our team. I think she’s going to add a real bit of quality to our roster. We’re excited to have her.”
