Kwara United Crash At Oghara

Oghogho Oduokpe and Festus Ajah scored as Bayelsa United defeated Kwara United 2-0 in a Nigeria Professional Football League match played at the Oghara Township Stadium on Sunday.

The Restoration Boys registered their third NPFL victory of the season, while Kwara United continued to sink down the ladder.

The opening stages of the encounter were very quiet, with no sense of urgency in the final third by both sets of attackers within the first ten minutes.

In the 11th minute, Segun Alebiosu delivered a flying header that brought out a flying save from Paul Godwin in goal for Bayelsa United.

Bayelsa United launched a well worked attack ten minutes later, when forward Eric Frimpong played a beautiful through-ball to his strike-partner Oduokpe.

However, the former Rangers striker's effort went narrowly wide as the match began to lighten up.

Ten minutes to the end of the first 45 minutes, Baylesa United were awarded a controversial penalty after Frimpong dived to deceive the referee.

Oduokpe was the man to break the deadlock, handing the hosts an important lead.

Evans Ogenyi's charges doubled their lead in the 60th minute through Ajah, who finished off with a low drive to make it 2-0 to the Yenagoa side
