Sunshine Crush Pillars

Week 13 of the Nigeria Professional Football League season was billed as the battle of the title contenders with Sunshine Stars taking on Kano Pillars at the Akure Township Stadium on Sunday.


The match was expected to spark excitement, but it was the Akure Gunners who scored all the three goals in front of their cheering supporters.

In a game which flowed from end to end, Sunshine Stars were the superior team pushing Kano Pillars to their limits, and had the cutting edge which gave them a massive win.

Paul Onobi put Sunshine Stars in front with a brilliant header, with further goals from Seun Olulayo and Dayo Ojo sealing victory for Kennedy Boboye tutored lads.

Sunshine Stars are on top of the 20-team table with 26 points, while Kano Pillars have 21 points.
