Dedevbo Returns As Falconets Boss

The Nigeria Football Federation have confirmed the re-appointment of Peter Dedevbo as Head Coach of the U20 Women National Team, The Falconets.

President of the NFF, Amaju Pinnick on Tuesday evening approved, on behalf of the Executive Committee and pending the ratification of the latter, a recommendation by the Technical and Development Committee to keep Dedevbo and his crew for one more term.

Chairman of the Technical Committee, Felix Anyansi-Agwu, said that his committee made the
recommendation in view of the accomplishment of the Dedevbo-led crew at last year’s FIFA U-20
Women’s World Cup in Canada.

“The Peter Dedevbo-led crew did well to get the Falconets to the final of the U-20 World Cup in Canada last year. Most of his players have been snapped up by the senior team, which shows that he built a good team.

“We will give the crew all the support that is necessary to qualify the Falconets for the 2016 U-20
Women’s World Cup in Papua New Guinea, and for the team to go there and win the trophy,” he was
quoted by the NFF.

Dedevbo’s assistants Toyin Ayinla, Wemimo Mathew Olanrewaju and Auwal Bashar also return to the Falconets ahead of the 2016 U20 Women’s World Cup qualifying fixture against Liberia next month.

Dedevbo also tinkered the U-17 Women National Team, Flamingos, taking the team to the quarter final stage at the World Cup finals in Trinidad and Tobago (2010) and Azerbaijan (2012).
