Ikidi, Michael And Oluehi Recalled To Super Falcons Squad

Caretaker coach of the Super Falcons, Christopher Danjuma aka Kurungu has invited players for the second round of the Olympic Games qualifier against Equatorial Guinea.


The trio of Faith Ikidi, Sarah Michael and Tochukwu Oluehi were all handed recalls to the team for the two-legged qualifiers.

There was no places for the quartet of in-form Sunday Uchechi, Ishola Tawa, Ogonna Chukwudi and Ijeoma Obi.

The 30 players are made up of 22 home-based and eight overseas-based and are expected to report to camp on Wednesday in Abuja before they fly to Port Harcourt where they will play Equatorial Guinea.

The invited foreign-based professionals are Minsk star Onome Ebi, Washington Spirit forward Francisca Ordega, Pitea IF defender Faith Ikidi, Guingamp striker Desire Oparanozie, Liverpool attacker Asisat Oshoala, team captain Evelyn Nwabuoku and Sarah Michael who stars for KIF Orebro.

Other foreign based professionals that were invited to the squad are Washington Spirits new signings, Ngozi Okobi and Josephine Chukwunonye. Another US based player invited to the team is Halimatu Ayinde.

Former Falconets goalkeeper Oluehi Tochukwu leads the home-based players that include Ibubeleye Whyte, Christy Ohieriaku, Ohale Osinachi, Osas Igbinovia, Yetunde Adeboyejo, Loveth Ayila, Chisom Henry, Sarah Nnodim and Mariam Ibrahim.

"I know it is a big task that has been bestowed on me and my assistants and by the grace of God, we shall conquer. We are going to face them squarely and get the result that will make the return a mere formality," he stated.

Kurungu’s first assignment will be against Equatorial Guinea, which comes up in Port Harcourt on Saturday, 18th July.
