Samuel Adegbenro and Suleiman Abdullahi were on target as Viking qualified through to the next round of the Norwegian Cup thanks to a 3 - 0 shoot out win against Kristiansund on Wednesday night.
Each time Viking took the lead - in normal and extra time - the home team managed to conjure up an equalizer but their luck ran out in the penalty shoot out after failing to convert any of their spot kicks.
Abdullahi opened scoring in the 61st minute before Okland leveled matters from the spot eight minutes later.
In extra time, Adegbenro restored Viking’s one - goal advantage before Espen Lund equalized for Kristiansund in the 115th minute.
Viking’s reward for qualifying for the quarter - finals is a home game against a yet to be determined opponent.
