Junior Ajayi will not be part of the Shooting Stars squad that will be facing Bayelsa United in the match day 12 of the Nigeria Professional Football League at the Oghara Township Stadium in Delta State on Wednesday.
His partner-in-crime, Nojeem Olukokun believes the team will miss his services but remain optimistic of a good result.
The duo of Olukokun and Ajayi have
formed a formidable partnership in front of goal for the
Oluyole Warriors in the on-going season.
Junior has four to his credit, while
Nojeem only has two in his kitty.
Ajayi and fellow Under 23 team mate, Abiodun Akande, who
was between the sticks for 3SC in their last home match against Lobi
Stars, will be missing out on this encounter due to national
team assignment.
"First and foremost, I thank God for Sunday's victory, it's
an important one for us, because if you check the log now we are on 13th
position and that shows how important the victory was.
"On Junior Ajayi's absence, yes, we are going to miss him a
lot no doubt about that, I personally will miss him because we are
understanding ourselves week in week out.
''Our partnership going forward
has been great but his absence will not stop us from putting up a good
fight, we are going to do well and try our possible best to get our first
three points on the road," he said confidently.
