Uneventful Monday for Nigerian players abroad

It was a Monday to forget for two strikers of the Nigeria National team the Super Eagles as they both failed to find the back of the net for their respective sides.

In Russia, Ahmed Musa who recently broke his goal scoring drought was unable to pick up from where he left off in his last game for his team CSKA Moscow as he failed to hit the bull's eye in their 3-0 win over Volga Nyzhnyi.

A 10 man CSKA won the game courtesy of goals from Zoran Tosic, Alan Dzagoev and Pontus Wembloom while Musa was on the pitch for 90 minutes before been replaced in time added by Konstantin Bazelyuk.

The win keeps third place CSKA Moscow 5 points behind leaders Lokomotiv Moscow.

In Turkey Emmanuel Emenike's goal scoring run that has seen him score in three consecutive games came to an end as table topper Fenerbache defeated Bursaspor 3-0.

However Emenike provided the assist for Moussa Sow to grab Fenerbache second of the game after goals from Dirk Kuyt and a late strike from Cameroonian Pierre Webo who ironically replaced the Nigerian in the 76th minute and scored 10 minutes later to complete the rout.

The victory strengthens Fenerbache’s grip on top spot in the Turkish Super Liga as they are now 10 points clear of second place Galatassary despite having a game at hand.
