Ebube Okpokwu, the new signing of Dolphins says he will score against
Sharks on Saturday if given the chance to showcase his talent.
The striker joined Dolphins from El-Kanemi Warriors and has only had a cameo on match day one against Crown FC so far this season but believes his arrival to Dolphins is to help the team achieve results.
He is also patient and willing to bid his time but insists if given the opportunity, will score against Sharks in Saturday’s Garden City Derby.
“I understand that the club already has strikers they have depended on in the past so I need to take my time, impress the coaches before I get a regular run in so I am not in a hurry.
“By the time I played against Crown it was late in the game so there was little I could do but if I get the chance against Sharks I am sure I will score,” Okpokwu said.
He is also a player with faith in his own abilities especially his pace which he believes will be a disadvantage to Sharks defenders.
“I have such qualities like strength, pace, goal scoring instincts and ability to hold up play that will help my team achieve their targets for the season,” he said.
Okpokwu, being new in Port Harcourt has never played in a derby game but says he is excited at the prospect.
“Remember, Abia Warriors beat Enyimba last week in the derby? I think we will do the same in this one against Sharks,” he predicted.
