Taraba State is a region that has been credited with some infrastructural development and growth in recent years. The current executive cabinet lead by Governor  Danbaba Suntai , is known to be stunch believer in the art known as ‘’Soccer’’.

As part of the state’s vision in making soccer a brand, efforts have been made to pump the needed cash, to aid the programme of  Nigeria National League side,FC Taraba. The club are in the top-eight zone in the second –tier of Nigerian football.

In 2011,the first lady of Taraba State,Mrs. Hauwa  Danbaba Suntai was part of the Nigerian delegation to the FIFA Female World Cup held in Germany. She was amazed with the level of the soccer artistry put on display. This spurned her to own a team in the Nigeria Female League.

Her vision for football development was met with approval from fanatics and lovers of the game in the state. The programme started with young talents being taught the rudiments of the game. This initiative lasted for about  9 months. It attracted talented female footballers from ages 10-17.Several tune-up matches were organized for the newly-formed side. They duly responded with some positive performance. Her excellency was hugely impressed with the girls and she decided to buy a slot in the big league.

At the last quarter of 2012,agreements were reached with the management of Kogi female outfit,Ogbechi Queens ,as regards taking over the team’s slot in the 2013 season.

Next on the agenda of the board was getting an experienced hand to manage the technical matters of the team.Several coaches were interviewed for the job,but a man who has been in the game for some years was saddled with the responsibility of coaching the team.Former  Sunshine Queens technical adviser,Moruf Nojeem Adeyemo ,got high marks in the interview. He signed a long term contract with the club.

According to the information made available to futbalgalore.blogspot.com,the composition of the set-up are Mustapha Tahir(Chairman), Morufu Nojeem Adeyemo(Chief Coach), Sunday Kubam(Assistant Coach), Isiyaku Dinatu(Team Secretary) and Murtala Muh’d  Salihu(Team Doctor)

The young side were humbled two-nil by Ineeh Queens in Benin City.Despite the loss , bookmakers and observers were hugely impressed with the girls’ mobility and fitness. They stood up to their more experienced opponents and gave a good account of themselves.Pundits have tipped them to make a bold statement in the current season.

The youthful side will be taking-on Adamawa Queen, in  a week 2 match, due to take place at Jalingo Stadium on 16 March 2013.
