In-form Super Eagles forward Ahmed Musa is confident of Nigeria will massacre Kenya on Saturday at UJ Esuene Stadium.
The 2013 AFCON Kings will be playing their first competitive match
since last month’s memorable victory in South Africa when they host
Harambee Stars of Kenya in an important World Cup qualifier in Calabar.
The CSKA Moscow youngster joined up with the rest of the Super Eagles squad in Calabar on Tuesday. He expressed confidence in the ability of the team to thrash the visitors.
“I wish to get one of the goals because I believe we will win
convincingly. Kenya won't be a pushover, but we will prove to be
superior to them," Musa asserted.
"I am here for business. The AFCON celebrations are over now. We are now focused on qualifying for the World Cup.”
The speedy and mobile attacker has netted four league from three league matches since he returned from his AFCON adventure.
In the absence of injured Spartak Moscow striker Emmanuel Emenike and
Spain-based striker Ikechukwu Uche, Musa could well lead the Eagles
strike force against Kenya with Michael Babatunde and Victor Moses on
the wings.
The other change for the Stepen Keshi-tutored
lads would be at right back following the suspension of Glasgow Celtic
utility defender Efe Ambrose.
Fast rising Sunshine Stars
defender Solomon Kwambe, who missed the final cut by whiskers to the
Nations Cup, is widely favoured by pundits to add to his international
caps with another appearance against Kenya
